The 112th Congress should
- Abolish the Department of Health and
Human Services
Here is a list (from the
official government website) of issues in which the Dept. of
Health and Human Services involves itself:
In each case, a socialistic approach to
these problems does not address the problem as effectively as
private organizations and businesses, which compete for your dollars
by offering more effective services at a lower price, and worse, a
socialistic approach inevitably makes these problems worse than they
were before government intervention began.
Of these issues, the Constitution
delegates authority for the federal government to be involved only
in the following areas:
The
HHS budget in 2000 was $45 billion, while total federal
expenditures for "health" were $155 billion, or more than
$600 for every man, woman and child in America. If you had been able
to spend that much money on each member of your family for
nutritional supplements, preventative medicine, or enhanced
insurance coverage, would you have been able to increase your
family's health more than the government did?
