It was momentarily trendy for reporters to ask Republican Presidential candidate Mike Huckabee if he believed in evolution or creation, and Huckabee took a stand for creationism [boo!] [hiss!] ["Creationism Corrupts Our Youth!"].
The Declaration of Independence is a "creationist" document.
We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness.
"Rights" are not the product of random chance, but of Intelligent Design. Also acknowledged are "the Laws of Nature and of Nature's God." And in closing,
We, therefore, the Representatives of the united States of America, in General Congress, Assembled, appealing to the Supreme Judge of the world for the rectitude of our intentions, do, in the Name, and by Authority of the good People of these Colonies, solemnly publish and declare, That these United Colonies are, and of Right ought to be Free and Independent States.... And for the support of this Declaration, with a firm reliance on the Protection of Divine Providence, we mutually pledge to each other our Lives, our Fortunes and our sacred Honor.
34-year-old James Wilson signed the Declaration of Independence. He later signed the Constitution and was appointed to Supreme Court by George Washington. Wilson stated in 1787:
“After a period of 6,000 years since creation, the United States exhibit to the world THE FIRST INSTANCE of a nation…assembling voluntarily…and deciding…that system of government under which they and their posterity should live.”
Daniel Webster stated in 1802:
“Miracles do not cluster, and what has happened once in 6,000 years, may not happen again. Hold on to the Constitution, for if the American Constitution should fail, there will be anarchy throughout the world.”
America has always been a nation "under God," and any government that does not acknowledge itself to be under God is a government that thinks it is God.
Huckabee appears to be a "theistic evolutionist."

How does he know that the theory of evolution is not true?
Because there is no GEICO caveman. Not in real life. Look around. Only on TV.
If humans evolved from cavemen, then whatever cavemen evolved from should have evolved into cavemen by now, during the time we evolved from cavemen to humans, and cavemen should be walking among us today. When we took a step up on the evolutionary ladder, everything beneath us should have moved up a rung as well. This is supposedly the process that has been occurring for billions of years. And there should be billions of fossils recording billions of steps up the evolutionary ladder.
But there aren't any such fossils.
Charles Darwin moaned about the absence of fossil proof of his theory of evolution, hoping someday the proof would be found. It never was.
But just in proportion as this process of extermination has acted on an enormous scale, so must the number of intermediate varieties, which have formerly existed, be truly enormous. Why then is not every geological formation and every stratum full of such intermediate links? Geology assuredly does not reveal any such finely-graduated organic chain; and this, perhaps, is the most obvious and serious objection which can be urged against the theory.

- But not just in the fossil record -- all around us, throughout the world, life appears in various "kinds" as described in the Bible, not a "finely-graduated organic chain" like Darwin's theory demands. Evolution should be visible everywhere. It should be next-to-impossible to identify different "kinds" of animals. There should be a "finely-graduated organic chain" between all animals, because all of life is still evolving. Continuously. Step by step, mutation by mutation. It didn't all stop
evolving when Adam and Eve finally came along.
- "Henry, is that a lizard or a bird?"
- "Gladys, will ya stop already with those stupid creationist questions?!"
Think of the confusion evolution would have produced if it really were happening:
- Your government fishing license would allow you to catch rainbow trout, but not the leggy trout that are walking ashore.
- The Department of Agriculture would have strict regulations prohibiting the sale of dog-cow meat when labeled as pure "steak" (or if not dog-cow, whatever cows are supposed to have evolved from). But could you blame the cattlemen? After all, who can tell where the dog ends and the cow begins?
- We would have "separate but equal" drinking fountains for cavemen and homo sapiens.
It doesn't exist. It's all a myth.
It would also be a lot easier to believe the people at PETA: "A rat is a pig is a dog is a boy."

The theory of evolution also destroys law. This is why the Constitution is dead meat. The Constitution is a "living" (evolving) document, we are told. Yesterday, incest was a crime. Tomorrow, it will have evolved into a legitimate life-style. And conveniently for the government, we've "evolved" past primitive legal concepts like "the right to property."
Michael Cremo: Let me explain a little about suppression of evidence. What I am talking about here is not some conspiracy to suppress truth. Instead, I am talking about something that historians of science and philosophers of science have understood for a long time, namely that theoretical preconceptions often influence how scientists respond to evidence. I call this process "knowledge filtration."
Evidence that conforms to a dominant theory passes through this intellectual filter very easily, but evidence that radically contradicts a dominant theory is filtered out. The scientists who are doing the filtering do not think that they are deliberately suppressing true evidence, which if known would cause people to reject their theory. Instead they think they are just being responsible scientists, ignoring evidence, which to them seems like it could not possibly be true.
