Congressional Issues 2010
MORALITY AND CULTURE
Euthanasia

The 112th Congress should:

  • Pass no law making it easier to kill another human being or legitimizing the killing of another human being.
  • Pass no law making it more difficult for pain-killing drugs to be administered
  • Pass no low using tax-payer funds for professional and institutional care while denying those same funds for family care at home.

"Euthanasia" comes from two Greek words, eu, meaning "good," and thanatos, meaning "death."
"Good death."

There is no "good death."

Death is unavoidable for each one of us. But our public policy should be to improve the quality of life, not hasten death.

Family members should be free to deal with the dying without government threats and coercion. But their decisions should be informed by a Christian worldview which should be supported by public policy. We need a culture of life to support tough decisions at death.

Secular Humanism and Darwinism begin with euthanasia of individuals and inevitably end with the genocide of millions.
