This web page was
created in response to criticisms of
Kevin Craig's position
on homosexuality. The claim was
made that the belief that
homosexuality is contrary to "the
Laws of Nature and of Nature's God"
is "hateful," that
articulating the belief that
homosexuality is a sin is "hate
speech," and public expression of
views which are critical of
homosexuality constitute "hate
crimes."
- The Bible plainly says that God
hates unrepentant homosexuals,
just as He hates unrepentant
murderers and embezzlers.
- For the
wrath of God is revealed from
heaven against all ungodliness and
unrighteousness of men, who
suppress the truth in
unrighteousness . . . . For this
reason God gave them up to
vile passions. For even their
women exchanged the natural use
for what is against nature.
Likewise also the men, leaving the
natural use of the woman, burned
in their lust for one another, men
with men committing what is
shameful, and receiving in
themselves the penalty of their
error which was due.
And even
as they did not like to retain God
in their knowledge, God
gave them over to a debased
mind, to do those things which are
not fitting; Romans
1:18-32
- God commands us to lovingly
reach out to those who hate God
and firmly invite them to repent,
and God lovingly grants
repentance, enabling them to
reject that which is shameful and
embrace that which is healthy and
holy.
This page explains why it is
necessary for Christians to engage in
"hate speech" against
homosexuals, and why this is a loving
thing to do. This campaign
follows America's Founding Fathers by
engaging in "hate speech"
toward the following:
If you're a homosexual, you hate
the God of the Bible. If God grants
you repentance, you'll be glad someone
committed a "hate crime"
toward you by telling you that God is
angry with you. Is
God only a God of Love?

the wickedness of their doings I

I will love them no

their soul also abhorred me."

hated Esau, and laid
his mountains and his heritage
waste for the dragons of the
wilderness."
- Romans 9:13 - "As it is
written, Jacob have I loved, but Esau
have I hated."
We are to think
God's thoughts after Him. God
raises
up terrorists and tyrants to judge
those He hates. |

Imagine that one of your employees embezzles $10,000 from
your company. You don't find out about it until it's too late:
it throws your small business into turmoil. Your creditors have
been stiffed. Your competitors use this information to their
advantage. Like the domino effect, like the snowball effect, you
eventually have to close your business and declare bankruptcy.
Your entire life is turned upside down.
Your unethical
employee feels no remorse. He says he needed the money. He says
he was "worth more than you paid me." He is a
Darwinist and says he can't be held responsible for the collapse
of your business, which was worth nearly a million dollars,
since he only took $10,000. "Survival of the fittest,"
he says. He doesn't even say "I'm sorry." He never
offers to pay you back or make restitution in any form. The
thought of trying to undo the damage he did never crosses his
mind.
He is, as the Bible would describe him,
"unrepentant."
What is your attitude toward this
employee?
You hate him.
You're a Christian, so you
leave vengeance to God (Romans
12:19ff.). You do not steal from him, attempt to seduce his wife
away from him, or poison his water. You believe the Bible:
{Romans 13:8} Owe no one anything, except to love one
another; for the one who loves another has fulfilled the law.

The commandments, "You shall not commit adultery; You
shall not murder; You shall not steal; You shall not
covet"; and any other commandment, are summed up in this
word, "Love your neighbor as yourself."

Love does no wrong to a neighbor; therefore, love is the
fulfilling of the law.
One day as you drive by his house, you see him playing
baseball with his son. It's easy to imagine that his son loves
his father. Many sons don't have fathers to play baseball with.
Generally speaking, he's probably an above-average father. Would
you re-hire him? Not a chance. He's got an unethical streak that
ruined your business and turned your life upside down. You hate
the guy.
Years later you learn that your embezzling
former-employee has developed severe emphysema. The driver of a
truck carrying oxygen tanks asks you where your former employee
lives so he can deliver life-saving air. For a split-second
you're tempted, but you tell the truck driver exactly how to get
to your former employee's home. Jesus said, "Love your
enemies." You obey.
Would you re-hire that employee?
Not a chance. You hate him. What he did to you disgusts you.
What he did to you is, objectively speaking, disgusting.
Can
we use the word "disgust" and "objective" in
the same sentence? Are ethics objective or just a matter of
subjective tastes? Is morality absolute, or merely relative? Can
we say that you are absolutely right and the embezzler is
absolutely wrong? After all, he apparently believes that he
wasn't paid what he deserved. He sincerely believes he did no
wrong, even though you lost your business and had your entire
life thrown into turmoil. Who's to say?
God.
The
Christian believes God has the right to say some things are
wrong.
God created human beings as males and females.

of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle,
and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that
creepeth upon the earth.

Homosexuals attempt to embezzle sexual satisfaction from
God's business.

Christians must obey God's commandments with respect to
homosexuals. Love is the fulfilling of God's Law. Homosexuals
living in a Christian society will be better off than those
living in pagan societies. God's Law is the source of cultural
blessings, and these blessings fall even on those who violate
God's Law. But one of those commandments is to hold their
immoral acts in disgust. We must hate embezzlers and
homosexuals. The Bible says so.

Embezzlers
and homosexuals disrupt God's creation. They bring pain into the
lives of others. Embezzlers and homosexuals are not happy.
Christians must hold their nose and compassionately help the
wicked out of the sewer.
Why Christians should become more "judgmental."
Everyone sins. My commitment to win sinners to Christ is much
higher than my commitment to punish sinners. I completely reject
violence against sinners.
There
is an egregious "gay-bashing" which is obnoxious
and unChristian even if it is not overtly violent. But
belief in the Christian account of the creation of male and
female, the Christian ordinance of marriage, and the immorality
of homosexuality is not "homophobia."

Christians should go out of their way to be gracious,
inviting, charitable, and hospitable to homosexuals. I have
extended hospitality to homosexuals in my home. Even those
diagnosed with AIDS. One died while a guest in my home. I spent
hours with him in the hospital before his own family could be
notified of his condition and come to his side. Christianity
teaches love
for enemies, not hatred (where "hatred" takes the form
of making
sinners suffer, violence, vengeance,
or "vigilante
justice").
But we must take up "sides,"
and not be on the "side" of those who are dedicated to
rebelling against God's commandments.
We are commanded to
be at their
side, even if we are not "on their
side."

Recent activity in the "blogosphere"
Five years ago I had to deal with
homosexuals who unfairly represented my position. More recently,
I responded to an email here.
I got some responses which are catalogued here.
Some of the comments on my blog are from "drive-by"
bloggers, who don't really want to know the facts or engage in a
dialogue, they just want to . . . I don't know what
they want, really. I don't think they want to be informed of the
facts. I think they prefer to publicly "anathematize"
the "unbelievers" so that their readers are impressed
with their courageous stand for their "truth."
The
surprising thing is that the vast majority of the hostility
directed at this campaign comes from Libertarians!
Instead of investigating all the facts and trying to put this
campaign in the best possible light, to help defeat the
Republican incumbent, they want to destroy a libertarian
candidate.
When I first created this website, I followed
the CATO
Handbook for Congress, each chapter of which begins with
recommendations for Congress. Hence, nearly every webpage on
this website begins with recommendations for Congress. When I
created this particular webpage (which obviously does not
correspond to any chapter in the CATO Handbook), I got a little
sarcastic, suggesting that Congress should "hate"
homosexuals (where "hate" is believing what America's
Founding Fathers believed). Some "libertarian"
bloggers have actually represented me as demanding that Congress
pass some form of legislation implementing "hate"
toward homosexuals. This is ridiculous for three reasons:
First,
Congress has no Constitutional authority to legislate on the
issue of homosexuality at all, in any way. On dozens
of pages
I emphasize the concept of "enumerated
powers": that Congress only has authority to act in
areas that are specifically enumerated in the Constitution --
and sexuality is obviously not one of those areas.
Second,
even if Congress had been delegated authority by "We the
People" in the area of sexuality (as it had been in the
area of "post offices and post
roads" [Art.1 sec.8]), as a radical libertarian I disagree
with the Constitution in many places, preferring that the issue
be sorted out in the Free Market.
Third, I believe both
the federal government and the Free Market are bound by the same
rule of non-aggression: a prohibition on the initiation of
force. I explain this rule here:

I am among the most radical of
libertarians in this respect, applying the non-aggression axiom
comprehensively and consistently, regarding both
war and personal behavior.
This means I oppose the
exercise of the following government powers against consenting
homosexuals (and just about everyone else):

One
blogger still insists
that I favor anti-homosexual legislation. I can't imagine what
that legislation would look like, given my radical libertarian
commitments.
My position on homosexuality is roughly
parallel to my position on heroin:
- It's no good.
- Legalize
it.
Since intoxication
is a sin, I "hate" drunkards, as the Bible commands.
My actions toward them are to lovingly
free them from their addiction, as the Bible commands.
Heroin
addicts are not blogging against me like homosexuals are. Perhaps
that's because heroin addicts are not as well-organized,
politically powerful, and "politically correct" as
homosexuals. Or maybe heroin addicts are more concerned to fairly
represent the position of their opponent.
I admit I'm a "bigot."
